主要針對汽車內飾材料的可燃性進行定性評定。適用於各種類型的汽車內飾材料生產廠家及其材料部件的研究、生產和質檢部門，也適用於絕緣材料、工程塑料或其他固體可燃材料行業。

內飾材料的燃燒特性必須滿足：燃燒速度不大于100mm/min 

歐盟標準：

• Directive 95/28/EC： The burning behaviour of materials used in the interior construction of certain categories of motor vehicle

水平燃燒測試（水平燃燒速率不超過100mm/min ；火焰在到達測試點前熄滅）

垂直燃燒測試（垂直燃燒速率不超過100mm/min）

美國標準：

試樣不燃燒，或火焰在樣品上水平燃燒速率不超過102mm/min

從測試記時開始，若樣品燃燒時間不到60秒就停止燃燒，且從記時開始那個位置起，樣品的損毀長度沒有超過51mm，則認為其滿足FMVSS302的要求。

國際標準：
